What started as a facelift became something much bigger.
I joined the Tasks project to refresh the UI, but after doing my own research using Co-Flo's own tools and speaking directly to customers, the findings pushed us toward a fuller rethink — including new functionality that hadn't been on the original roadmap.
I was the sole Senior Product Designer across two connected workstreams, Tasks and Key Dates, designing for both the admin and end-user sides of the product. Key Dates arrived as a single epic doc. Everything else was mine: stakeholder management, prioritisation, PRDs, designs, dev tickets, and QA.
The most interesting design challenge: users asked for a calendar view. When we actually spoke to them, a timeline made more sense. Research changed the answer.

What started as a Google Form and a shared inbox became a full self-service platform for buyers and suppliers. Over five years of real user feedback shaped the design and I led the build from first prototype to launch.

Gumtree is one of the most visited sites in South Africa. This project turned it from a listings platform into a place where people could actually buy and sell with confidence. Think South Africa's answer to eBay, but for secondhand goods.
I joined mid-project specifically for my fintech background. My job wasn't just designing the checkout flow — it was figuring out what a payment experience could look like for every South African, on any device, trusting a stranger with their money for the first time.
I worked with TradeSafe as the third-party payment processor and designed the full returns and dispute process from scratch.
It launched the week after I left. I've used it myself. Would recommend.

A seller dashboard for one of South Africa's most visited sites, designed to be valuable enough that people would actually pay for it.
The constraint was real: dev could only surface specific data points. No custom metrics, no wish list. Just what existed. My job was to take those fixed inputs and design a dashboard that felt indispensable to a seller running their business, whether they were on a laptop or a low-res phone.
The added complexity: commercial, product, and dev all had different visions for what this should be. Navigating that, while keeping the user's needs as the anchor, was as much a part of the design challenge as the screens themselves.
